Introduction to Noise

In the times that we live in, noise is any sound that can be considered annoying or unwanted, whether it is loud music or the constant ringing of an alarm clock. Here at the CRC we have conducted in-depth studies and analysis about this vague concept of noise. To each person the word "noise" can mean many different things. Everyday, though few people know it, many of us are exposed to threatening, maybe even dangerous levels of noise. When you are exposed to dangerous levels of noise, tiny hairs in your ears are damaged, and the transmission of sound from your to your brain is permanently altered. The average city has noise levels ranging from 90dB to 110dB. Noise levels higher than 80dB are considered potentially dangerous, that is why here at the CRC we are dedicated to communicating facts about noise to you and the rest of the world.

Please explore our site to learn about the many side-effects of exposure to dangerous noise and how you can help yourself from losing your hearing. We hope that you enjoy our site!
